How I Work
This Process Is Designed to Do One Thing:
Get the Right Stories Finished.
Step 1: Apply to Work Together
Everything starts with a short questionnaire and a call.
You’ll outline:
The story you want to tell
What you’ve already written (if anything)
What outcome you’re aiming for
Why now
From there, we schedule a call. We’ll talk through your story, your goals, and whether this process makes sense for you right now.
Not everyone moves forward.
If there are signs the story isn’t ready —
unresolved external factors
ongoing personal or legal situations
reliance on outside voices to shape the narrative
— I’ll tell you directly.
If it’s a fit, we move forward.
If it’s not, you’ll leave the conversation with a clear understanding of where things stand.
Step 2: Strategic Story Assessment
If we decide to move forward, everything begins here.
The Strategic Story Assessment is a focused, high-level evaluation of your story, your material, and your path to publication.
This is where we answer the question:
What will it actually take to get this book finished and published?
As part of the assessment, we will:
Review your existing material (drafts, notes, transcripts)
Identify the core narrative and strongest positioning
Evaluate readiness and potential roadblocks
Determine the right publishing path
Outline a clear, executable plan forward
At the end, you’ll have:
A direct assessment of where you stand
A clear recommendation on next steps
A defined path to completion
Investment: $1000
If we continue, the $1,000 is applied to your project. If not, the assessment is yours to keep.
Step 3: Choose the Right Path
There is no one-size-fits-all approach.
But most clients fall into one of three paths based on what they already have and what they actually need.
Book Proposal
Best for:
Authors who already have strong material but need structure, positioning, and a clear path to traditional publishing. Your story is already written, but you need someone to make it work.
This package often includes structural refinement of your manuscript, narrative positioning for publishers, full book proposal development, and strategic coaching throughout.
With a 100% proposal track record, this is a highly focused, results-driven process to get your story published.
Investment: $10,000–$15,000*
Full Book Ghostwriting
Best for:
Authors who have the story but need it written, structured, and completed.
This is a full ghostwriting engagement.
We build the book properly from the ground up.
This package will likely include in-depth interviews, narrative development and structure, full manuscript writing, and iterative revisions and refinement
Most projects take 3–6 months, depending on scope.
Investment: Starting at $25,000*
Road to Publishing
Best for:
Authors who want the entire process handled, from concept to publication readiness.
This is the highest level of engagement.
The full-service publishing package includes everything in the ghostwriting package, development of your book proposal, your publishing strategy and positioning.
This is a single, structured process designed to take the entire process off your plate, deliver a finished manuscript and a clear path to publication.
Investment: Starting at $50,000*
*Previous payment for the Strategic Story Assessment is applied to the cost of your package.
As a busy entrepreneur it felt nearly impossible to make progress with my book. I worked on the manuscript for 4 years and then finally decided it was time to hire a professional writer. Burton took my manuscript and notes and somehow make sense of it all.
I went from my messy notes to a finished manuscript within 4 months once I started working with Burton. I wish I had hired him earlier and saved myself 4 years of pain!
